The UPSL Academy Southern California divisions joins an ever-expanding, new Academy platform from the UPSL that already includes the Florida, Northeast, New England and Georgia regions. UPSL and non-UPSL teams alike from these regions now have the opportunity to enter academy teams into a new cost-effective, simplified youth soccer platform that compliments any team’s current youth soccer schedule. The UPSL Academy also has plans to expand the platform to other UPSL conferences across the country this year.
UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara spoke about the excitement surrounding the UPSL Academy’s growth and launch in Southern California.
“The UPSL Academy launch in southern California was a huge success. It’s great that we can take these highly competitive teams that have joined us this spring and build upon that for an even bigger Fall season.”
“The UPSL Academy is an important addition because it allows the high-level young players that already compete in our Men’s divisions, a seamless transition between youth and adult sides, where they can continue to develop their technical skills and physical capabilities. The UPSL Academy schedule lines up with our Men’s schedules and allows flexibility for midweek games for that exact reason. This helps us truly establish a player pathway that graduates players to the semi-professional level and beyond based on skill, and skill alone, not external factors.
As UPSL Academy division games wind down for the summer, more teams are expected to return for the Fall season as the UPSL Academy prepares for further growth and launches in new regions around the country.
